PDNFJ Condemns Brutality in Myanmar
We are highly disturbed by recent suppression of freedom of speech and expression in Myanmar. The government of Myanmar's violent crackdown clubbing and tear-gassing protesters, firing shots into unarmed assemblies resulting several deaths and arresting hundreds of the monks who just have aired their frustrations. Haphazard and high-handed raid in Buddhist monasteries, beating up and hauling away hundreds of monks, is no way "civilized performance".
Myanmar, being a member nation of United Nations Organization, should obey and respect Universal Declaration of Human Rights including freedom of assembly and expression, we strongly believe. We vow to Government of Myanmar that denial of peoples' basic human rights is no more tolerable to civilized world. The government must protect life of its citizen.
We, offer our solidarity to state-victimized persons, express heartfelt condolence to deceased's family and wish speedy recover of wounded. We also request all human-rights defenders to stand along with victimized persons of the Myanmar.
